Bury Your Lies

My husband and I watched a great movie over the weekend, Seven Days in Utopia , with Robert Duvall, who we appreciate as an actor. In the movie, there was a message that has been popping up for me frequently in many different ways. The message is “Bury Your Lies!” Lies have been penetrating my thoughts more lately. Are you experiencing the same? Maybe due to the change of seasons, which requires more activity, more responsibilities, less clothing, and pressure to plan the summer. Anxiety and Excitement

I am learning so much from little kids right now. Did you know that anxiety and excitement are the same from a physiological standpoint? They both activate the sympathetic nervous system, triggering the “fight or flight” response in our bodies. This could include increased heart rate, rapid breathing, adrenaline release, sweaty hands and feet, and stomach butterflies. My New Motto

I saw this reel on Facebook the other day of an adorable family snowboarding together. The little girl was around 7 years old, wearing a microphone so her dad could hear her. She spoke with a sing-song rhythm and sang about how much she loved the snow and being outdoors, along with how good she was at snowboarding. She stopped at a steep area, told her dad she was scared, and then stated she was going to “Do It Scared!” In that moment, I adopted my new motto. Which Circle?

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Are you prepared? Is your energy being used in the direction you want it to? I am trying to redirect some of my energy. I have noticed lately that my energy and focus are directed more towards my circle of interest rather than my circle of influence. My circle of interest is social media, world issues, and situations I have no control over, yet they are getting a lot of my energy and worry. Taking Life for Granted?

I recently realized that I take my wins, comforts, and blessings for granted. I personally want to make a change. I have been gifted with talents and skills that I tend to think everyone owns. I also tend to take my comforts of life for granted. For example, clean water, temperature control in my wonderful home, an abundance of food, a soft bed, a reliable car to transport me to a job I love, and an AMAZING community of friends, co-workers, and clients that fill my cup every day. I love the story of the Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The reflections that Scrooge encounters with the three ghosts and his transformation following his night of insight always make me wonder about my own life. The season of hustle, bustle, Santas, and Grinches is upon us. We are beginning the last month of 2025 on a Monday. How are you going to begin this last month? How do you perceive Mondays in general? As Manic or Marvelous?
